It is time to find your favorite costume and start planning your next vacation getaway to St. Simons Island this holiday season. Sure, St. Simons Island might be known best for its incredible beaches, gorgeous waters, and warm temperatures, but it also features some of the most exciting Halloween events on the East Coast. Here is how you should celebrate Halloween this year on St. Simons Island at Hofwyl Broadfield Plantation and more:
Ghosts and Legends of Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation
Take a trip back in time with Georgia’s most haunted attraction at the Hofwyl Broadfield Plantation. You and your family will be given a tour around the plantation and main house while hearing tales of ghost encounters, folklore, and the rich history of the fields. This historical tour is approximately one mile in length and can last up to an hour and a half. Make sure you bring your most comfortable walking shoes and bug spray. This ghostly tour is $15 per person and will take place on October 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Click here to reserve your tour.
Monster Mash Bash Halloween Costume Party
Grab your favorite costumes and check out the best costume party this year at the Monster Mash Bash Halloween Costume Party at the American Legion Post. This adults-only event features tons of fun, live music, dancing, a full-service bar, and the popular Spook-tac-ular Costume Contest. Entry is $75 per person or $150 per couple and includes delicious appetizers, a “Witches Brew” ticket, and eligibility into the costume contest. Buy your tickets today by calling 912-638-8770 or visit www.glynnvisualarts.org. This year’s event will take place on October 13th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
Grab your kids and head to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center this Halloween season for a free event highlighting the sea turtles in the area. Your children will love visiting with these slimy and “spooky” creatures while in full costume. This local event even features a costume parade, Mad Science Lab where you can make your own bioluminescent creature, spooky presentation on how sea turtles impact our oceans, and much more. Have fun while learning a few things at this year’s Turtleween, taking place on October 28th from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Entry is free for you and your little ones. Visit www.marinelife.org for additional information on this local favorite event!
