St. Simons Island Fishing Pier

Located in the Pier Village on Mallery Street, the St. Simons Island Fishing Pier is the ideal picturesque spot for an evening stroll and for fishing. This beautiful pier overlooks all of St. Simons Sound and is a great spot for whale watching each year between the December and March. North Atlantic Right Whales migrate from the northeastern United States to the area every year and guests to St. Simons are always enthralled to spot these whales as they make their way southeast. During other months of the year, dolphins can be spotted off the pier as they feed along the coast.

On the Pier

St. Simons Fishing Pier has lots of tray tables and water hoses all along the pier railings so that those fishing are able to conveniently prepare their bait and clean off the fish they catch. There are also lots of benches scattered along both sides of the pier so that people passing by have a nice place to sit and watch the fishermen and all the crabbers as they bring in their catch of the day.

St. Simons Fishing Pier is one of the prettiest spots in St. Simons Island and many people seek out the pier as the perfect spot for a photo shoot, a picnic, a romantic stroll or bike ride, or to just sit peacefully and watch waves crash on the nearby rocks. There are plenty of spots for St. Simons fishing, both for beginners and the more advanced to sit and spend the afternoon fishing. Families and couples can often be seen enjoying the local scenery. For St. Simons Island fishing enthusiasts who may be in need of additional gear or bait, Pier Village offers a bait & tackle shop just a short walk from the pier.
