Iguanas Seafood Restaurant

Voted best Fried Shrimp in 2013 and 2014, Iguanas Seafood Restaurant harvests their shrimp right off the coast of Georgia, doing their best to keep the shrimping industry alive and vital.  Open 7 days a week from 11am to 10pm, Iguanas décor can best be described as vibrantly nautical and their food?  Simply scrumptious!   Best of all, for all you dog lovers out there, dogs are welcome on their covered patio, so feel free to bring your favorite fur-baby to dine along with you!  Located: 303 Mallery St, St. Simons Island, Georgia

The Half Shell at the Pier

As in most of the seafood restaurants here on St Simons Island, when visiting The Half Shell at the Pier, you have to try the sweet Georgia shrimp, prepared in various ways…all amazingly tasty!  Voted Best First Date Restaurant, this casual dining establishment has a street-side patio located in historic Pier Village, so grab a table and participate in one of the Island’s favorite pastimes…People watching!  Located: 504 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island, Georgia

Crabdaddy’s Restaurant

Housed in a charming red brick trimmed building, all we can say about Crabdaddy’s can be summed up in one word…YUM!  Their shrimp and grits, a coastal favorite with a Southern flair, will have you visiting time and time again during your stay on this Golden Isle and their signature bread pudding will have you begging for mercy…it’s that good!  Located: 1219 Ocean Boulevard, St. Simons Island, Georgia

Mullet Bay

Located in the heart of Pier Village, Mullet Bay not only serves some of the best seafood platters this side of the Mississippi, they also offer live music during the busy season for your dining entertainment.  Imagine spending a warm summer night on the patio of this classic cottage, munching on some deep fried oysters, sipping on a pitcher of ice cold beer as the sounds of a local band fills the night with sweet chords of music…life doesn’t get much better than this! Catch 228 Oyster Bar & Grill

Last, but not least by any stretch of the imagination, if sucking down raw oysters drowning in hot sauce right off the half shell is your thing, you can’t go wrong with Catch 228 Oyster Bar & Grill!  Open daily and featuring live music on the weekends, their Happy Hour rocks with 75 cent oysters, $3 dollar wines and $1 off all beers…this bar and grill is a great place to hang out and just chill!   And if you happen to be in town on Sunday, you have to check out their all day Bloody Mary bar, guaranteed to cure any hangover!  Located: 228 Redfern Village, St. Simons Island, Georgia
